Steve the article is interesting in the perspective taken, where land prices are high I believe the continuing drive towards more tall buildings will continue in both commercial office and residential. Will the post Covid push to more home working impact either of these, to some degree I guess.
Historically building large volumes of residential towers in the UK didn't produce communities or community spirit as residents very rarely saw each other and building maintenance (or the lack of it) impacted the quality being experienced.
The service charges from management companies has been brought into clear view post Grenfell with many dissatisfied occupiers.
I would like to believe that more low rise mixed use developments where people don't have a long commute to work or communities with shared home working facilities (fast broadband, comfortable design etc.) are possible.
The future is upon us today, let's take advantage.
