    The new Tottenham Court Road station takes its design cues from the ground above - the architecture of nearby buildings and the Soho street pattern, coupled with the nightlife and theatres of London’s vibrant West End. The station features a new entrance on Dean Street with a cinematic and theatrical design featuring granite, black glass and stainless steel.

    Farringdon station has been designed with inspiration from the goldsmiths, watchmakers, ironmongers and blacksmiths of the area and the brutalist architecture of the Barbican. The new station sits beneath Smithfield Market and provides connections with Thameslink and London Underground services through an integrated ticket hall on Cowcross Street.

The new station concourse is built on a bridge over the existing Hammersmith & City and District lines and London Overground. From this new concourse escalators and a lift connects passengers with the Elizabeth line 30 metres below.
