Crossrail railway systems: Elizabeth line permanent track installation complete
The completion of the permanent track is a significant milestone in the delivery of the Elizabeth line. More than 50km of new, permanent track has been installed between Westbourne Park in west London and through to Plumstead and Pudding Mill Lane in the east. The final section of the track was completed in the eastbound tunnel of the new Whitechapel station earlier this summer.

Crossrail station design: installation of architectural components at Bond Street station
Crossrail Programme Director Simon Wright explains the design reasoning behind the huge, sweeping concrete shapes being installed at the new Elizabeth line BondStreet station. Glass-fibre reinforced concrete is being used to line the station platform tunnels and cross-passages, leaving smooth, sweeping, curved edges that promote easy navigation and reduce blind spots for passengers.
