AECOM, in partnership with Genifuel, is putting biosolids and algae to good use by transforming these wet waste products into a carbon-neutral clean biocrude oil that is nearly identical to its fossil equivalent. This breakthrough patented hydrothermal processing technology uses heat and pressure similar to how fossil crude oil is formed–but does it in 30 minutes instead of millions of years.
