SteelConstruction - Framed in Steel: Derby Arena

A new 'dry hub' multi-sport arena at Derby built on a former landfill site yet next to a nature reserve. A steel frame structure was selected because of: - the 80m beam span lengths (some 20m high up) across the entire arena to support the roof - the geometry of the 7m wide racing track support - 3D stone envelope - Speed of erection of the steel frame Faulkner Brown, Arup and Billington were involved with this project
