Design & Architecture: Paddington Elizabeth line station
The design of the Elizabeth line station at Paddington was inspired by the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Matthew Digby Wyatt in the Grade I listed mainline station. The new station incorporates the DNA of their original grand design, with a build based on Brunel’s 10-foot grid pattern, and a design that makes the most of daylight; resulting in a contemporary and elegant addition to the mainline building.
