HS2 - First support walls installed at HS2's Victoria Road crossover box in West London 02112022
The Victoria Road Crossover Box, near to Old Oak Common in West London, will allow HS2 trains to switch tracks underground on their approach into the new superhub station. The support walls for the structure - at 50 metres long and weighing 87 tonnes each - are currently being placed on site, to form the outer shape of the box. Once all the supporting walls are installed, HS2's construction team will prepare to excavate the box, which will be 130 metres long and 24 metres deep.
