Unbuild Better: A case study in deconstruction
AAP's Felix Heisel, supported by an Einhorn Center grant, is leading a team in the deconstruction of one of 11 houses being removed to make way for the Catherine Commons development in Collegetown. AJ held a summit in March 2021 which included a brief talk on Circularity by Hans Hammink, Architect with Dutch firm Cie, who provides examples of material reuse, renewable energy use, modular/demountable design and other 'circularity' considerations that have been included in some of their construction projects.
