Often, a challenge, especially with smaller projects, is explaining to a client’s insurance broker what needs to be included in a construction policy. Whilst they are insurance brokers, not all have experience of standard form construction contracts, such as JCT, and all of the specific policy coverage requirements, which necessitates checks from the QS (and sometimes reversions) to ensure the policy covers everything it needs to.
