Lots of great questions here, Steve!

I’m not necessarily the right person to speak to the first-hand problems contractors face. However, in my line of work and I would imagine for a range of other professions, communication is absolutely key to the success of a project. Therefore, all stakeholders should be abreast of any changes that arise and any impact it could have on a project. In doing so, you establish trust. And, we all know how fundamental trust is to the success of an organization.

Fortunately, with the right tools, gathering this information (records, reports, requests, rfis, etc.) doesn’t have to be difficult and keeping everybody informed can be quick and painless. And then, of course, there’s the matter of being able to demonstrate proactive communication and transparency in the face of litigation. Needless to say, being able to provide “receipts” is crucial.

Solutions like ProjectReady exist to distill information and data from multiple systems, platforms, and CDEs to provide everybody involved on a project with valuable insight into the project, whether it’s on pace and how it’s aligning with the set budget.
